A few days ago, a new technological development came to revolutionize the way we watch soccer from the players’ perspective. We are talking about the “Body Cam”, a camera integrated into the players’ shirts with artificial intelligence.

The team that implemented this technology was Cologne of the Bundesliga in a friendly match against AC Milan of the Serie A.

During the match two Cologne players, Timo Hübers and Tim Lemperle, wore two vests equipped with bodycams, while other players were on the pitch with microphones.

Do you have any idea what the purpose of this camera is? We’ll tell you!

This proposal has the goal of eliminating the distance between the fan and everything that happens inside the field of play, providing a visual from the footballer’s perspective. “AI bodycam” is the name of the light vest that captures the player’s view without generating any extra weight or discomfort to play the game. It also provides a different and more eye-catching point of view for fans of this sport.

MindFly is the technology company that developed this system and is part of the new technologies of the so-called ‘Innovation Game’, which is currently being tested in the friendly tournament of the Telekom Cup.

According to the firm, the objective is to provide the spectator with a first-person perspective of the actions at the court level.
